Dear Treasury Chest Officer,
The War Office have sent us copies of your
correspondence with the Financial Adviser about the
possibility of obtaining dollars from the Colonial
Government instead of in the open market (from the
Financial Adviser's FACC.1014 of 6.1.32 to your Conf.
T.C.5 of 12.2.34 inclusive).
This is a subject about which the Treasury had
a good deal of correspondence with your predecessors and
I enclose, in case the copies in your office have been
mislaid, copies of the letters noted in the margin. It is
